Building a Bridge
It was with tremendous vision from the Lord that Laurelglen Bible Church, our mother church, both acquired the 25 acres at Stockdale Highway and Allen Road in 2000 and decided in 2003 to plant a new church to reach new people and communities for Christ. The Bridge has been “Glorifying God through Growing Up and Reaching Out” now for three years. While we have been meeting in rented facilities, we have been seeking God and diligently planning for our campus. I believe that God is saying the time is NOW – time to, like Joshua leading the Israelites, take the land and establish a presence for God’s glory in Southwest Bakersfield.
God has entrusted us with a strategic location which will enable us to have a huge impact in reaching Bakersfield and beyond for Christ. He’s given us a big vision. Building a campus is a huge undertaking. But this is what our King is asking of us: Expand My Kingdom and use this property that I have provided to that end.
I invite every single person involved with The Bridge to pray about how God would like to use you to accomplish His purposes in building His campus. It’s going to take all of us together seeking God, stretching our faith and worshipping Him through sacrificially giving. RIGHT NOW we have an unprecedented and unparalleled opportunity to be involved in creating MOMENTUM for The Bridge that I pray God will grow into a lifechanging, city-changing and world-changing movement.
We often call it sacrificial giving, but is it truly a sacrifice to make the best investment possible – an investment in eternity?
